(He’s a fun chap, though not British.)
To create a credible business in marketing and technology consulting for real estate, you have to be solid in all three legs of the stool.
For our founder, Deven Spear, the real estate leg came first; he began his career building custom homes in Landfall, a Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye master planned community in Wilmington, North Carolina. Technology was next up for Deven: Through Information Design Corporation (IDC), which he founded in 1991, he provided database design and development services to large enterprise customers like Nortel Networks and the State of North Carolina. It was projects in custom application development and legacy systems integration for IDC that spurred Deven to think of data in terms of how it can be used to orchestrate customer experiences and advance an entirely new generation of customer engagement. And through four companies he since founded or co-founded (VisionFactory, Marketecture, BrightDoor and, most recently, Spear Consulting), Deven’s focus has been acutely attuned toward a single goal: helping clients capitalize on technology-driven marketing to educate, engage, and delight their customers.
Today, Deven takes on any number of roles for our clients, from virtual CMO and digital marketing strategist to innovation accelerator and change agent. You’ll find Deven inspiring fellow marketing and sales leaders at technology, real estate and venture capital conferences, where he serves as a respected speaker, presenter and panelist. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and lives in Cary, NC, with his wife Nancy Jo and sons Kenan and Noah.
